Official Results: 60,786,898 Stupid People in The United States

On Tuesday we received an official count of the number of stupid people in the United States. There are 60,786,898 people living in the U.S. infected with stupidity. Additionally there are 57,895,043 others who suffer from a less severe form of a very similar un-named disease.

Perhaps we can just call both types of these people idiots?...

The definition of idiot (source):
"An idiot, dolt, or dullard is a mentally deficient person, or someone who acts in a self-defeating or significantly counterproductive way".

Yep, 118,681,941 registered idiots in the United States. That's a little more than 1/3 of the U.S. population (311,591,917). Oh, and that's only registered idiots who showed up to be counted.

Looking closely at the results, you will see 1,790,581 additional people evaluated who are not idiots; "normal" people. Of those, 1,139,562 are registered intelligent people, that is about 0.37% of the United States population.

Statistics wise, the ratio of counted idiots vs counted "normal" people is 20:3. For every 100 idiots you'll get 15 normal people. The remaining 85 is made up of 43 stupids and 42 with the unknown affliction. Of the 15 "normal" (and I use that word very lightly) you have a 50% chance of seeing one intelligent person. When you factor in the statistic that a person will only meet an average of about 70 people in a lifetime, things get really depressing.

These numbers don't surprise much given the current state of the country. Unfortunately the evaluations are anonymous and corrective actions will be impossible to *execute*.
