Nokia Not Going to Make It

2 Years ago, Nokia was a market leader in the smartphone business. Today, they are nothing but a blip. Many including me have predicted that the new "Windows Phone" strategy was ill-fated. Recent financials seem to confirm that.

Nobody seems to want a Windows Phone, and it doesn't take a genius to figure out why. Windows just isn't that popular anymore.

I have nothing much to say about Nokia other than it's been nice knowing you. I don't expect to see you next year, bye.

Microsoft Posts It's First Loss

There is a first time for everything. Microsoft just posted it's first loss since becoming a public company in 1986. In a way I kind of feel bad for them. They bet the farm on .NET in early 2000, and looks like things haven't gone according to plan. Perhaps it's time to rethink that .NET strategy.

RIM: Not Going to Make It

Poor RIM the makers of the once popular BlackBerry is going through some rough times. Only they are to blame, instead of embracing the Android operating system, they instead decided to stick with there old and outdated platform. As soon as they realized their proprietary operating system was outdated; instead of embracing Android they decide to write a new proprietary operating system.

Government FAILS - Individual Mandate Upheld

Today, freedom has died a little more. In the United States, Obama's individual mandate forcing people to purchase a product from private companies has been upheld. No matter how the decision was worded (they call it a tax), the end result is the same. Our government can now force U.S. citizens to buy a product.

Mark Zuckerberg does not Deserve to be a Multi Millionare

Facebook is successful because it taps into the inner wants of people in the United States. This is fine even though I myself believe Facebook is utterly useless. However, the CEO and supposed "creator" of Facebook, Mr. Mark Zuckerberg does not deserve to be where he is right now. I know nothing about the guy, I've never seen the movie related to the subject, and I never knew that there was a real life person who thinks Mr. Zuckerberg "stole" Facebook.

How I Hate Voice Recognition Based IVR's

If you don't know what I am referring to, let me give you a hint: "Thank you for calling for help please say...". It seems as more and more companies (especially banks) are utilizing these automated voice activated "interactive virtual response systems". Some are are not so bad when they give you the option of saying what you want or pressing the key you want. Others however won't let you through to a live person for almost 3 minutes. You either have to sit there an wait till the stupid timeout kicks in, or play along with the computer.

High Fructose Corn Syrup Makes You Feel Sick

Unless you have been living under a rock, a lot has been said about High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) these last few years.  The talk has been about how bad it is for your health and the endless rebuttals by it's supporters, the big United States based food companies.  These big food companies like to use HFCS as an alternative sweetener to sugar because it's cheaper to move around and produce.

Steve Jobs is Dead

Although sad for may people, I am not surprised and quite happy about the news. I don't mean to be disrespectful towards his family and close relative, but the man has been given more credit than he deserved. Sure, he helped make computers become accessible to the masses, but he did not do it alone. The man has been dying for almost 4 years. It shows you that having all the money in the world can't prevent death.

US Airlines Free Roundtrip Tickets Promotion SCAM

What do you get when all 3 core human elements are combined? A scam of course. Today I received a very interesting letter in the US Postal Service's mail. It sure looks serious, probably an IRS or court document.

US Airlines SCAM Letter front.

I better open it right away and see what is wrong...

..what's this?
